Winthrop Area Rotary Club Hosts 2nd Annual Harvest Dinner
On Saturday, October 26, 2013, Winthrop Area Rotary Club hosted its second annual Harvest Dinner at Winthrop Congregational Church.
More than 100 members of our community came out and enjoyed Roasted Prime Rib; Glazed Ham; Eggplant Casserole; Roasted Butternut Squash and Apple Puree; Roasted Root Vegetables; Roasted Potatoes; Roasted Mushrooms and Peppers; Braised Collards and Red Cabbage; Fall Greens with Farm Dressing; Oxtail Soup; Homemade Biscuits; Chocolate Cream Pie; Pumpkin Caramel Cupcakes; Apple Crisp; Brownies and several other delicious desserts baked with care by members of the community. All of the vegetables on the menu came from Annabessacook Farm, Emery Farm, and Farmer Kev’s Organic, making the evening a celebration of locally grown food.
We thank Ballard Meats & Seafood for sponsoring this event, all the volunteers who helped the event run as smoothly as it ran, and everyone who came out to enjoy a great feast and support Club efforts to end hunger in our community.
